15 gadgets to kick off camping season - Greeley Tribune

Growing up camping was an annual ritual for the Markard household. For two weeks my parents, sister and me would live in a pop-up tent trailer that my dad towed behind our large yellow Dodge van.

Eight summers straight, my mom would wake us up early and we’d all pile into the van for the 8-hour trip up to Yosemite National Park for vacation.

During those weeks, we enjoyed everything camping and the outdoors could offer — grilling, playing board games by a campfire, floating down the river in tubes, fishing, biking and more.

I really miss those trips and as an adult, I’ve wanted to get back into camping. It’s been a long time since I camped and like many things in life, stuff has changed.

So what are some of the nifty new gadgets and must haves for camping? The Greeley Tribune scoured camping sites and top products lists to come up with some of the more inventive and unique camping equipment.
