Bologna, Italy, September 29th - Evil Licorice, a new team consisting of Studio Evil and the creator of Kingdom, Marco Bancale, is excited to come together as Evil Licorice today to reveal their latest project, Retro Gadgets, a gadget-creation station where players invent, code and customise their own gadgets and share them with the world.
In Retro Gadgets, players will discover how it feels to create real, working gadgets right at their fingertips. Working in a tactile interface, inventors will pull buttons, switches, dials, joysticks and more from drawers and build any gadget they can think of. Featuring full Steam Workshop integration, players will be able to download, inspect and reverse engineer each other's projects. See a gadget that you want to understand? The more programming-minded players are able to bring their gadgets to life through a fully-documented Lua environment, enabling the creation of video game consoles, live weather stations, calculators and more. Once built, gadgets aren’t constrained to Retro Gadgets itself, as players and designers will be able to export their projects from Retro Gadgets and use them on their desktops.Make a tool you need for your daily workflow in Retro Gadgets and export it for your personal use.

About Evil Licorice
Marco Bancale and Luca Marchetti have been friends since the '90s, dreaming of making video games together. They walked down different paths and independently founded two game studios: Licorice and Studio Evil. Over the years both studios went on to release successful titles such as Kingdom and Super Cane Magic ZERO. In late 2020, Marco came up with the stem for an unorthodox new game, Retro Gadgets, and instantly knew that Luca would have loved working on it. That's how Evil Licorice was born.
