Last night, news broke that Scott Disick had entered rehab for substance abuse issues after a photo of him in a group Zoom meeting emerged. E! confirmed that Disick was seeking treatment at an Edwards, Colorado facility. But shortly after the news stories came out, Disick checked out of the facility.
Attorney Marty Singer issued a statement, revealing Disick planned to sue the facility for allegedly leaking the photo of him there.
Singer said, "In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father 3 months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas. He did not check in for any alcohol or cocaine abuse. Shockingly as a result of the HIPAA violation of the facility and his violation of privacy, he has checked himself out and is immediately returning home. We are alarmed by this extreme invasion of privacy and plan to take immediate legal action."
In the hours since, E! has gotten more insight on why Disick was seeking help and the role his ex-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian and current girlfriend Sofia Richie played in getting him to enter treatment.
Richie and Disick had been quarantining together. A source told E! that Disick had been struggling with the downtime. He was "spiraling in his thoughts," the source said. "He has harbored pain that will surface and put him in a bad place."
A second source told E! that Richie became "extremely concerned with the choices he was making and how out of control he became very quickly." Richie "tipped off" Kourtney Kardashian about Disick's condition, "because she didn't know what else to do."
A third source said that Kardashian had her suspicions her ex was spiraling though. "Kourtney was very upset, and knew something was up by his unresponsiveness to matters and convos that pertained to the kids," the source said. "She had been through this before many times, and put a halt to it immediately. She ultimately gave him an ultimatum and he had no choice but to seek help."
