What's new about the GoPro HERO9 Black
The new GoPro HERO9 Black action camera features a 23.6MP sensor that allows you take videos in 5K and 20MP pictures. Need to get that perfect screen grab from a video? The rich frame allows you to get them in clarity as high as 14.7MP. The front-facing LCD display takes the guesswork out of self-shot videos, and the four Capture Presets give you one-tap access to a change in settings, based on whether you're shooting a cinematic sweep of the view from your trek, or a slow-mo of your best friend dancing at her sangeet.
Other cool features include the HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilisation with its camera horizon levelling, the swappable lens that you can switch to a MaxLens Mod that allows for horizon lock even when the camera is rotated a full 360°, and a 30 per cent longer battery life, so you won’t need to plug it in every few hours.
Brownie points for sustainable design
To improve their environmental footprint, GoPro’s HERO9 Black has eliminated plastic from its packaging and has replaced it with a high-quality travel case that will allow you to carry it anywhere safely. On this initiative, Nicholas Woodman, GoPro’s founder and CEO reveals, “Reducing as much plastic as possible from our business is a priority for us. We’re excited to package HERO9 Black in a high-value travel case instead of traditional wasteful packaging, and we’re committed to doing the same with the rest of our cameras by the end of 2021.”
