Though the 40-year-old techie, Anupam Jain from Haralur Road, has lodged a complaint with the airline, he is yet to receive a proper response. The business-class passenger had found that the TSA lock of his suitcase had been opened and the gadgets in it were missing.
When STOI contacted British Airways last Sunday, a spokesperson said the airline was probing the case but there was no response on the matter till Saturday evening.
“Upon reaching the Bengaluru airport, I realised one of my three checked-in suitcases was missing. While I was busy lodging a complaint with the British Airways ground staff, I didn’t check the other suitcases. After reaching home, I was shocked to realise that my blue and black suitcase had been unlocked,” recalled Anupam.
The techie soon found that the gadgets were missing. “A Columbia backpack I had bought for my daughter was also not there. I think someone opened my suitcase, possibly during transit at Heathrow, put all the gadgets in the backpack and took it away after zipping up the bag,” the techie, who had purchased the gadgets and backpack at a grand sale in the US, said.
Anupam contacted the customer service helpline of British Airways in India, but in vain. “They kept passing the buck and I didn’t receive a positive answer,” he added.
